Expectations Around the Use of Third-Party Tutoring & Study Services

While we understand sites such as Chegg, Course Hero, GitHub, Quizlet, and others, can provide study tools and strategies for students, information on these websites are often posted without permission from the owner and are not approved study materials or resources. We recommend that you use caution if you are using these sites without explicit permission from your instructor. These sites are often not authorized study materials for assignments, quizzes, or tests. Clarifying with your instructor before using these or any sources and whether or not they are allowed for each academic exercise is highly recommended. If you are using these sites as an individual study tool such as making flashcards, please check your account privacy settings to make sure your account is private. Publicly displaying academic material that is not your intellectual property could constitute a violation of the Code of Student Academic Integrity. If information is found to have been posted on these sites in an unauthorized manner, Student Accountability & Conflict Resolution can work with the company to have the material taken down and if appropriate, pursue policy violations of the Code of Student Academic Integrity.

Please note it is a violation of the Code of Student Academic Integrity to share, distribute, alter, or acquire, academic materials without authorization that could result in gaining or helping another to gain an academic advantage. It is also a violation of the Code of Student Academic Integrity to use materials without authorization in any academic exercise that could result in gaining or helping another to gain academic advantage.
